Are you a BISP beneficiary who has not received your payment for this month? Don’t panic, your cash grant is not gone! The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has started a re-verification drive across Pakistan to update beneficiary data and ensure that those who receive financial assistance through BISP are the most deserving individuals. The re-verification process is simple using the 8171 service to reactivate your BISP account and to start receiving your quarterly payments again.
Key Features of the Re-verification Process
This re-verification drive is designed to be easy. Here is what you need to know:
- Dynamic Survey: The re-verification process is part of a new “dynamic survey” to gather up-to-date information on BISP families. The new process helps ensure that financial aid is given to families that are still “needy”.
- Using an SMS option: To verify your re-verification status, you can also send your CNIC number to 8171, and the program will inform you if you are eligible and if there are other steps to follow.
- House-to-house: In some situations, BISP officials will conduct a visit to the individual’s residence to verify information, which is a very easy and straightforward process.
- Adaptation and wastage: By removing ineligible people, they also helped in removing the ineligible people from their lists, meaning wastage of funds was reduced.
Eligibility Criteria and Required Documents
The re-verification will only apply to existing beneficiaries, so please be sure to have the information and documentation available to confirm that you are eligible.
1. You are a current beneficiary of the BISP Kafalat program.
2. You have your valid CNIC available.
3. You have information about the CNICs and mobile phone numbers of your family members in case required.
4. Your household’s Proxy Means Test (PMT) score remains less than the threshold to be eligible.
