BOP Himmat Card Online Registration: Eligibility & Key Features

In a monumental stride toward the goal of enabling and assisting people with disabilities (PWDs), the Government of Punjab, under the Chief Ministership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has introduced the “Himmat Card“. This initiative and program are more than a card and support; it is a determination to help people with PWDs in Punjab to work towards living a life of dignity, financial security, and independence. The Himmat Card initiative is geared to provide much-needed financial support and access to essential services to create an enabling environment for an inclusive society.

Key Features of the Himmat Card

The Himmat Card program provides a full spectrum of benefits to enhance the quality of life for persons with disabilities:

  • Quarterly Cash Assistance: The primary benefit is a quarterly cash grant of PKR 10,500, as supplemental assistance to help recipients meet their required needs and cover day-to-day expenses.
  • ATM Card: The cash assistance is delivered to the recipient on an ATM card, giving them convenient access to cash from any branch or ATM of the Bank of Punjab, where the card can be used.
  • Rehabilitation and Training: The Himmat Card is more than just cash benefits. The aim is to assist PWDs to become active and productive citizens by providing free technical training and rehabilitation services.
  • Respectful and Direct Process: The entire experience is built on transparency and respect, including to the process that allows the cash assistance to go directly to the deserving applicants without intervention.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Himmat Card, applicants are required to fulfill the following simple but important conditions. These conditions are important so that the benefits of the program go to those who most need these benefits.

  • You must be a person with disability (PWD) with a certificate issued by the Department of Social Welfare, Punjab.
  • You cannot be a salaried employee of any government or private organization.
  • Your PMT score provided by the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) must not be more than 45.
  • You must not have been funded by other welfare organisations such as the Bait ul Maal or Zakat Fund very recently.
