Exhausted from rising gas prices and outdated, loud taxis? Get ready for a clean, green, and modern way to work and earn a living with the Punjab E-Taxi Program! This one-of-a-kind program is a breakthrough towards a cleaner and more modern transportation system in the province. The government is handing out 1,100 brand new electric taxis to unemployed young people to help them become entrepreneurs without the financial strain. This is more than a taxi company, it’s a plan for a cleaner environment and new businesses and jobs!
Key Features of the E-Taxi Program
This program is designed to make a real difference for drivers and the environment. Here’s what makes it stand out:
- 1,100 Interest-Free Electric Vehicles: Phase one will deliver 1,100 electric vehicles! And, the best part? They will come interest-free on an installment plan, putting them in a price range that’s affordable for everyone.
- Eco-Friendly and Cost-Effective: These electric taxis are zero-emission vehicles, which will reduce our city’s carbon footprint. They are also significantly cheaper to operate than petrol or diesel vehicles, allowing you to increase your fuel savings.
- Creating a Large Charging Network: As part of the project to introduce electric taxis, the Government is putting in a charging station every 3 kilometers in Lahore, built to expand throughout the provincial border. No need to worry about low power.
- Create Jobs for Youth and Women: This scheme aims to create thousands of jobs, with a focus on attracting young people and women to the transport industry, and start a new future.
